The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has ordered the sealing of offices of four housing societies in Islamabad over alleged violations of approved layout plans.
The CDA’s Enforcement Wing has been directed to seal the offices of Swan Garden, Bahria Town, Jinnah Garden and Accounts Group Officers Cooperative Housing Society (AGOCHS).
According to official letters issued by the CDA’s Planning Wing, the housing societies allegedly violated their approved layout plans. Officials said several notices were issued, but the societies failed to meet the authority’s requirements.
Allegations Against Swan Garden
The CDA has accused Swan Garden of allegedly converting land reserved for parks, a cemetery and public buildings.
The authority said the society also carried out development work on 585 kanals of land without an approved layout plan and No Objection Certificate (NOC).
CDA’s Position on Bahria Town
According to the CDA, Bahria Town failed to fulfill conditions attached to the approval of its Phase 3E and Phase 4 projects.
The authority also identified alleged violations involving land reserved for parks, cemeteries and public buildings in other phases.
Jinnah Garden and AGOCHS
The CDA has accused Jinnah Garden of developing projects without obtaining an NOC. The authority also alleged that areas reserved for parks, green spaces and public facilities, including schools, hospitals and cemeteries, were converted.
Regarding the AGOCHS Housing Scheme One, the CDA said its layout plan had already been cancelled. The authority also accused the society of allegedly converting land reserved for public facilities.
A senior CDA official confirmed that the sealing action would be carried out after show-cause and final notices had been issued to the societies.
