Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) anti-government long march has entered its seventh day, with the convoy led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi scheduled to travel from Charsadda to Mardan on Saturday.
According to PTI sources, the march reached Charsadda after passing through Peshawar on Friday night. Participants stayed at Razarr Ground, from where the convoy began its seventh-day journey.
Route from Charsadda to Mardan
The procession is scheduled to pass through Tangi, Charsadda and Sardheri before entering Mardan. Participants will stay overnight in Mardan and depart for Swabi on October 11, according to the announced schedule.
So far, the march has made stops in Lakki Marwat, Karak, Kohat, Peshawar, Khyber and Charsadda. Organisers have revised the schedule twice due to travel time and administrative considerations.
Sohail Afridi Thanks Supporters
Addressing participants at Bakshi Pul, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi thanked the people of Peshawar and party workers for their support.
He said public enthusiasm and participation had remained strong despite the long journey, strengthening the resolve of party supporters.
Afridi said he would announce the march’s next course of action in Charsadda, while the final plan would be revealed upon reaching Swabi. He urged workers to remain prepared for the upcoming stages and maintain discipline.
PTI’s Demands Behind the Protest
According to the march organisers, the protest aims to secure permission for meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan, ensure appropriate medical treatment for him and initiate hearings in the cases against him in the higher courts.
PTI leaders have said the protest will continue until their demands are met.
Meanwhile, the administrations of the districts along the route are monitoring the security situation as the procession moves towards Mardan and Swabi.
