The Punjab government has opened applications for the latest phase of the Honhaar Scholarship Program, offering financial assistance to eligible students. The deadline to apply online is November 9, 2026.

Urdu Report Desk

The Punjab government has opened applications for the latest phase of the Honhaar Scholarship Program, allowing eligible students at selected universities and colleges to apply for financial assistance. The deadline for submitting online applications is November 9, 2026.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the new phase, saying the program has supported 160,000 students and provided opportunities across 70 disciplines. She urged students to continue their education and take advantage of the latest scholarship round.

Who Can Apply for the Honhaar Scholarship?

The new phase covers students beginning their degrees in Fall 2026 as well as those already enrolled in eligible institutions. However, eligibility requirements regarding institutions, family income and academic performance differ between the two categories.

Applicants in both categories must hold a Punjab domicile. There is no age limit or gender restriction, but students must meet the relevant academic, financial and enrollment requirements.

Eligibility for First-Semester and First-Year Students

Students enrolling in their first semester or first year in Fall 2026 can apply if they are studying in selected disciplines at participating public-sector universities and colleges, public medical and dental colleges, Higher Education Department (HED) colleges, or partner federal and private higher education institutions.

Students admitted to the first year of MBBS or BDS in 2026 are also eligible.

Family Income Limits

Students enrolled in public-sector institutions must have a monthly family income of less than Rs. 350,000.

For students at participating federal and private institutions, the monthly family income must be below Rs. 500,000.

Applicants must submit an income affidavit on e-stamp paper to verify their family’s financial circumstances.

Eligibility for Continuing Students

Students in their second semester, second year or later can apply if they are enrolled in selected disciplines at eligible public-sector universities, public medical and dental colleges, or HED colleges.

Their monthly family income must be below Rs. 350,000, supported by an affidavit on e-stamp paper.

Under Phase IV, continuing students at federal and private institutions are not eligible to apply.

Minimum Marks for New Students

Students entering their first semester or first year must meet the following minimum FSc or intermediate marks requirements:

  • Public-sector universities and colleges: 70% for science students and 65% for arts students.
  • Public medical and dental colleges for MBBS and BDS: 80%.
  • Federal and private universities: 70% for science students and 65% for arts students.
  • HED colleges: 65% for science students and 60% for arts students.

For HED colleges, the 60% threshold also applies to arts and social sciences.

The merit calculation for new entrants gives 30% weight to matriculation results and 70% to intermediate results.

Academic Requirements for Continuing Students

Students applying from their second semester or year onward must meet the prescribed academic performance requirements.

At eligible public-sector universities and colleges, the minimum requirement is 70% for science students and 65% for arts students.

At HED colleges, students must also have at least 70% in science and 65% in arts.

Students enrolled in MBBS or BDS programs at public medical and dental colleges must meet a minimum academic requirement of 60%.

Applicants must ensure that both their institution and discipline are included in the program’s participating lists. Meeting the academic and income requirements alone does not guarantee eligibility.

  • A matriculation certificate or O-Level equivalence certificate.
  • An intermediate certificate or A-Level equivalence certificate.
  • A Punjab domicile certificate.
  • An income affidavit.

How to Apply Online

Applicants should visit the official Honhaar Scholarship portal and select the login option to register for a new account or access an existing one.

To create an account, students must provide the required registration information, including their institution, university or college, CNIC number, email address and password. Applicants must use their own valid CNIC number without spaces or dashes. Using another person’s CNIC may result in disqualification.

If the portal indicates that a CNIC number is already registered, applicants should sign in to their existing account rather than create another one. They should also save their login credentials and enter the required captcha when signing in.

Check Eligibility and Complete the Form

Before applying, students should review the eligibility requirements and download the sample income affidavit from the portal.

They must then enter their personal information, admission date, student registration number, discipline, degree title, domicile details and family income. A recent photograph must also be uploaded.

Applicants should complete the mailing and permanent address sections and provide their matriculation and intermediate or equivalent academic records. The “Save and Continue” option should be used to retain the information entered in each section.

Upload Documents and Submit the Application

All supporting documents must be uploaded in the prescribed format and size. Applicants should ensure that the scanned documents are clear and readable.

Before submitting the form, students should carefully review all the information and uploaded documents for accuracy.

Saving or reviewing the application does not complete the process. Applicants must click the “Submit” button to formally apply.

After successful submission, a confirmation message will appear, an application ID will be generated, and the application status will become available. Students can also save or print their completed applications.
