Police investigating the death of International Islamic University Islamabad gold medallist Laiba Ejaz have uncovered nine more alleged fraud cases involving suspect Nauman, who is accused of taking money from people by promising government jobs.

Urdu Report Desk

Police investigating the alleged suicide of student Laiba Ejaz have uncovered nine additional cases of suspected fraud involving Nauman, the main suspect in the case. He is accused of taking hundreds of thousands of rupees from people by promising to arrange government jobs and providing them with fake appointment letters.

According to police sources, Nauman allegedly deceived several individuals by offering them government employment in exchange for money. The victims were given hope of securing jobs, but the appointment letters they received later turned out to be fake.

Victims Did Not Initially Report the Alleged Fraud

Police sources said the affected individuals had not initially lodged complaints with the relevant authorities, which prevented the alleged fraud cases from coming to light earlier.

Federal police have now traced some of the victims, while others have begun contacting the authorities to report their experiences.

Investigators are examining the information and documents provided by the affected individuals to establish the details of the alleged fraud and determine whether additional cases are linked to the suspect.

Police Investigate Possible Additional Victims

Police are investigating how many people may have been deceived through promises of employment and how much money was allegedly collected.

Investigators are also examining whether other individuals were involved in the suspected fraud.

Authorities are gathering further evidence and attempting to identify additional victims as the investigation continues.

Connection to Laiba Ejaz Case

Nauman is already under investigation in connection with the death of Laiba Ejaz, a gold medallist from the International Islamic University Islamabad.

Laiba’s family had alleged that the suspect took a substantial amount of money by promising to arrange admission to a higher education programme in the United States, along with a visa and scholarship. The family further alleged that he later provided fake documents.

Police said investigations into Laiba’s case and the other allegations against Nauman are ongoing. Authorities are continuing to identify potential victims and collect evidence relating to the suspected financial fraud.
