Pakistan sealed the three-match T20 International series against Sri Lanka with an emphatic 82-run victory in the second match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

Batting first after Sri Lanka elected to field, Pakistan posted 215 for three in 20 overs. In reply, Sri Lanka managed 133 for seven, leaving Pakistan with an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Maaz Sadaqat Misses Century by Four Runs

Maaz Sadaqat delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 96 off 51 balls to help Pakistan reach a formidable total. His innings included seven sixes and six fours, making it the highest score of his career.

Sadaqat accelerated Pakistan’s scoring in the closing overs and attempted to reach his maiden T20I century with a six off the final ball. However, he was caught on the last delivery, finishing just four runs short of the milestone.

Sahibzada Farhan Leads from the Front

Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan continued his impressive form with an aggressive 73 off 44 balls, including five sixes and four fours.

Farhan and Sadaqat strengthened Pakistan’s position with a second-wicket partnership of 88 runs, taking the team’s score to 143 before Farhan was dismissed.

Earlier, opener Fakhar Zaman scored 22 off 17 deliveries, hitting four boundaries. He was dismissed by Maheesh Theekshana when Pakistan reached 55.

Hasan Nawaz Provides Late Acceleration

After Farhan’s dismissal, Sadaqat joined Hasan Nawaz to keep the scoring rate high. The pair added 72 runs for the third wicket, taking Pakistan beyond the 200-run mark.

Hasan Nawaz contributed an unbeaten 19 off just nine balls, including one four and one six.

Pakistan maintained an aggressive approach throughout the innings and scored 70 runs in the final five overs to finish at 215 for three.

Sri Lanka Fall Short in 216-Run Chase

Chasing a target of 216, Sri Lanka struggled to keep pace with the required run rate and finished on 133 for seven in their allotted 20 overs.

Maheesh Theekshana top-scored for Sri Lanka with an unbeaten 32 off 26 balls, while Chamindu Wickramasinghe contributed 29 off 24 deliveries.

Pakistan’s bowlers maintained pressure on the visiting side, preventing Sri Lanka from building the partnerships needed to challenge the target.

Pakistan Secure Series Victory

The 82-run win gave Pakistan a decisive 2-0 lead in the three-match series, ensuring that Sri Lanka could no longer draw the series.

Pakistan’s strong batting display, led by Sadaqat and Farhan, proved decisive in the second T20I in Rawalpindi.
