The Lahore High Court has ordered that two young children be recovered from their father’s custody and handed over to their biological mother in a domestic dispute case.
Justice Ameer Ajum Malik heard a petition filed by Ayesha Bibi. During the hearing, police presented both children before the court along with their father, Ali Ahmed.
Both Sides Present Different Positions
The petitioner’s counsel, Advocate Shehbaz Ali Hanjra, told the court that the husband, who serves as an SDO in a government department, had allegedly taken the children by force and expelled his wife from the home.
According to the petitioner’s lawyer, the couple has not been divorced.
Ali Ahmed, however, presented a different account. He maintained that his wife had left for her parents’ home on her own after leaving the children behind. He further claimed that the children did not want to live with their mother.
Court Orders Children Handed Over to Mother
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court ordered that the two children be placed in their mother’s custody.
However, during the process of handing the children over under the court’s order, both children refused to go with their mother. They pleaded to remain with their father and appealed to be allowed to stay with him.
