Chery Master Pakistan has announced that its fully electric Chery Q will be introduced at the Pakistan Auto Show on September 18.

The company is positioning the electric vehicle in response to the rapid growth of Pakistan’s new energy vehicle (NEV) market. According to Chery Master Pakistan, the NEV segment grew by 392 percent in fiscal year 2026 and now represents around 15 percent of the country’s overall automobile market.

Chery Q and Pakistan’s Growing Solar Market

Chery Master Pakistan also sees the expansion of rooftop solar power as an opportunity for electric vehicle adoption.

The company says households can use surplus electricity generated by their solar systems to charge electric vehicles. This could allow consumers to make productive use of solar power that would otherwise remain unused.

The approach could be particularly relevant for households that already have solar systems and generate more electricity than they consume during certain periods.

Estimated Fuel and Charging Costs

Chery Master Pakistan estimates that a conventional petrol vehicle driven around 20,000 kilometres per year could consume approximately Rs488,000 worth of fuel.

By comparison, the company’s real-world calculation suggests that the annual energy cost of operating the Chery Q could fall to around Rs30,000 for households using surplus solar power to charge the vehicle.

The estimate is based on an efficiency figure of approximately 7.2 kilometres per unit of electricity.

The comparison highlights the potential cost advantage of electric vehicles for consumers who can charge their cars using surplus household solar power.

Chery Q to Be Showcased at Pakistan Auto Show

The Chery Q will be showcased at the Pakistan Auto Show on September 18, giving consumers an opportunity to see the fully electric model as Chery Master Pakistan expands its presence in the country’s growing NEV market.

Further details about the vehicle are expected to be provided as part of its presentation at the auto show.
