Ali Amin Gandapur has decided to return with PTI workers, saying he could not put party workers at risk as police blocked the route at Yarik Toll Plaza in Dera Ismail Khan.
The former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister was leading a convoy that turned back after encountering roadblocks that prevented it from moving forward.
Section 144 Imposed in Dera Ismail Khan
Addressing workers in Dera Ismail Khan, Gandapur said Section 144 had been imposed for three days. He said the party leadership had instructed workers not to engage in vandalism and to continue the movement peacefully.
“We cannot put our workers at risk,” Gandapur said, explaining that the decision had been taken to return because the routes ahead were blocked and the convoy could not move forward.
Call for Practical Decisions
Gandapur urged workers to assess the situation on the ground before making decisions. He said there was no point in making statements based on social media or “TikTok” discussions and stressed the need to make decisions according to the practical situation.
Meanwhile, PTI’s Long March has started from Lakki Marwat under the leadership of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
