According to reports, the project will be directed by Faheem Burney. The director has also shared information about the production on his Instagram account, drawing attention to the project on social media.
The drama is currently in the early stages of development, with producers reportedly holding discussions with other potential cast members.

Mahira Khan May Join for Special Appearance
The production team is also reportedly considering approaching acclaimed actress Mahira Khan for a special role in the drama.
Mahira has appeared in numerous Pakistani films and television dramas and made her Bollywood debut in the film Raees. However, her involvement in the upcoming project has not been officially confirmed.
Details about the complete cast, storyline and release date also remain unclear.
Mixed Reactions on Social Media
Wasim Akram’s reported move into television acting has prompted mixed reactions on social media. While some fans are excited to see the former cricketer in a new role, others believe sports personalities should remain focused on their original professions.
Television critic Dr Ijaz Waris criticised the reported casting, commenting that television actors should stay at home while cricketers should start acting.
Actress Javeria Abbasi, however, expressed excitement about the possibility of seeing Wasim Akram and Mahnoor Baloch together on screen.
One Pakistani social media user jokingly expressed dissatisfaction, saying they had barely managed to tolerate Akram in advertisements and would now have to put up with him in television dramas as well.
Despite the criticism, many of Akram’s fans are eagerly awaiting the project and looking forward to seeing him in a different role.
Wasim Akram’s Illustrious Cricket Career
Wasim Akram is widely regarded as one of the greatest left-arm fast bowlers in cricket history. During his distinguished career, he took more than 500 wickets in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and was a member of Pakistan’s victorious 1992 World Cup team.
Following his retirement from professional cricket, Akram remained active as a commentator and cricket analyst, while also pursuing opportunities in entertainment and television.
Previous Appearances in Films and Television
Although the upcoming drama could mark a new step in his television career, Akram has previously appeared in films and entertainment programmes.
His film appearances include Khichdi (2011), Sachin: A Billion Dreams (2017) and the Pakistani film Money Back Guarantee (2023).
He has also appeared on Indian comedy programmes, including Comedy Nights with Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show. In addition, he has experience working as a host and judge on various programmes.
His reported entry into television drama would represent another move beyond cricket, adding scripted acting to his previous entertainment appearances.
