ISLAMABAD: Changan has officially introduced the Nevo Hunter REEV pickup truck in Pakistan, marking the company’s entry into the country’s pickup truck market. The vehicle comes with Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) technology.
The mid-size pickup was previously showcased at the PAPS event last year as the Deepal K50 Hunter. It is now being launched in Pakistan under Changan’s Nevo sub-brand.
According to Changan, the wheels are powered entirely by electric motors, while the petrol engine acts as a generator to charge the battery.
Nevo Hunter Performance
The Nevo Hunter is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which generates electricity for the battery. It has two electric motors, one on each axle, giving the pickup a 4×4 drivetrain.
The vehicle produces 322 horsepower and 529 Nm of torque. Changan claims that it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
The pickup comes with a 31.18 kWh LFP battery, offering a claimed pure-electric range of 131 km under the NEDC cycle. With the battery and its 70-liter fuel tank, the claimed combined range is 700 to 900 km.
DC fast charging can charge the battery from 30% to 80% in around 30 minutes, while a full AC charge takes approximately 5.6 hours. The vehicle also features 3.3 kW V2L functionality.
Off-Road Capabilities
The Nevo Hunter has been designed for both urban driving and off-road use. It features a strong ladder-frame, body-on-frame chassis along with 2H, 4H and 4L drive modes.
The pickup has 220 mm of ground clearance, a 29-degree approach angle and a 26-degree departure angle. Its claimed water-wading depth is 600 mm.
The vehicle offers a 1,010 kg payload capacity and a 2,500 kg towing capacity.
It also features electronically locking front and rear differentials. Drivers can select different terrain modes, including Snow, Mud, Sand, Creep and Off-Road.
Exterior Design
The Nevo Hunter features a rugged and aggressive exterior design. Changan has adopted a front-end design inspired by a hunting animal.
The pickup comes with a body-colour grille, matte-black exterior elements, black wheel-arch cladding, side steps and LED headlights and taillights.
It measures 5,380 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width and 1,875 mm in height.
The cargo bed measures approximately 1,590 × 1,580 × 490 mm and features a hydraulic-assisted tailgate and four cargo hooks.
Interior Features
The Nevo Hunter has a more SUV-like cabin compared with traditional pickup trucks. It features a dual-tone beige and black interior.
The front seats are finished in synthetic or microfiber leather and feature ventilation. The driver’s seat has six-way electric adjustment, while the front passenger seat offers four-way adjustment.
The vehicle features a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and a 7.5-inch digital instrument display. Other features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, a six-speaker audio system and rear AC vents.
Safety Features
The Nevo Hunter comes with six airbags along with ABS, EBD, Electronic Stability Program, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control and a 360-degree camera.
Other safety and convenience features include Transparent Chassis View, front and rear parking sensors, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Electronic Parking Brake, Auto Hold and Active Yaw Control.
The pickup does not come with a full ADAS package, although it does feature Lane Departure Warning.
Changan Nevo Hunter Price and Booking in Pakistan
The Changan Nevo Hunter REEV is priced at Rs. 10,990,000 in Pakistan, while the booking amount has been set at Rs. 2.2 million.
The company is also offering a limited-time Price Lock facility.
For filers, a 3% Advance Income Tax (AIT), amounting to Rs. 329,700, is not included in the listed price. Non-filers will be subject to a higher tax.
Deliveries for fully paid bookings are expected to begin in October 2026, while deliveries for partially paid bookings are scheduled to start in February 2027.
