Internal tensions within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have intensified after former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur issued a strong warning to incumbent Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, threatening to expose alleged details about his rise to power and other party-related matters.
According to website WE News the Two audio messages attributed to Gandapur have circulated, including a 1-minute-and-43-second recording shared in the provincial cabinet’s WhatsApp group, according to a report by V News. In the recordings, Gandapur expresses anger over Afridi’s alleged statements and accuses him of crossing his limits.

“Mr Chief Minister, control your language,” Gandapur says in the audio message, adding that he has remained silent to preserve unity within the party but would not tolerate such remarks.
Threat to Reveal Alleged Details of Afridi’s Appointment
Gandapur warned that he would reveal details about how Afridi became chief minister, the alleged conditions attached to his appointment and the people who helped bring him to power.
“By God, I will expose how you came into this position, under what conditions and who brought you here,” he said.
The former chief minister also referred to November 26, 2025, claiming that Afridi was supposed to make an announcement on that date but did not do so.
Gandapur described Afridi as a “self-styled Tipu Sultan” and “made in China.” He alleged that Afridi deliberately delayed matters after arrangements had been settled, portraying the delay as part of a previously planned political strategy.
Allegations Over Imran Khan’s Meetings
In the audio messages, Gandapur also raised the issue of meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan, alleging that Afridi had played a role in stopping those meetings.
He further claimed to possess records of messages sent by Bushra Bibi concerning the person who allegedly helped bring Afridi to power, as well as discussions related to the matter.
Gandapur also accused Afridi of being involved in the suspension of meetings involving Bushra Bibi’s daughter. He claimed that he had preserved details and records relating to these matters.
However, no documentary evidence supporting these allegations was presented in the audio recordings.
Second Audio Message Reveals Deleted Warning
In a second audio message, Gandapur disclosed that he had drafted a strongly worded message about the dispute but deleted it because he feared it would be leaked to the media.
“I had written a very sharp message, but I deleted it because it would have been leaked and appeared in the media. Things get leaked from here,” he said.
He criticised what he described as irresponsible behaviour and remarks, warning again that he possessed records concerning the dispute and could expose several people if he decided to make them public.
Gandapur Says He Has Remained Silent for Imran Khan and PTI
Gandapur said his silence was motivated by consideration for Imran Khan and the party’s current circumstances.
“We are silent because of Khan Sahib and because of the party’s situation, but I will not tolerate this language or such serious allegations,” he said.
He added that he was familiar with the conduct and circumstances of people regardless of their positions and warned that there were limits to what he would tolerate.
According to Gandapur, he had openly addressed the issues in an earlier written message but deleted it in the interest of the party.
“Do Only What You Can Bear,” Gandapur Warns
In the second recording, Gandapur’s tone became more forceful as he warned Afridi against making further allegations.
“Do only as much as you can bear. I will not tolerate this kind of nonsense or these allegations,” he said, adding that exposing the details could make it difficult for those involved to defend themselves.
He urged Afridi to focus on his own performance instead of making remarks about others.
At the end of the message, Gandapur accused Afridi of ingratitude, saying he had exercised restraint and remained silent while remarks were being made against him.
Previous Disagreements Within PTI Leadership
The latest exchange comes amid earlier reports of differences between PTI leaders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In May this year, Gandapur and Afridi reportedly exchanged harsh remarks in the party’s WhatsApp group.
The dispute has brought renewed attention to divisions within the party’s provincial leadership, particularly over Afridi’s appointment, political decision-making and issues involving meetings with Imran Khan.
Afridi’s Earlier Remarks on Islamabad March
Earlier, while addressing a gathering in Peshawar, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said that previous participants in marches to Islamabad had played a “fixed match,” but claimed that the upcoming effort would result in victory.
He said there was no reason for party workers to be afraid because he would stand with them.
The latest audio messages have added to the tensions between the former and incumbent chief ministers, with Gandapur warning that he could make further allegations and release records if the dispute continued.
