Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced plans to develop a state-of-the-art city modelled on Manhattan in Islamabad, with the proposed project to be located directly behind the Prime Minister’s House.
Speaking at the Saudi-Pak Real Estate Expo in Islamabad, Naqvi said the project would create significant investment opportunities. He announced that an auction of highly valuable plots in the new city would be held in December 2026.
Plots for Shopping Malls and Residential Complexes
Naqvi said valuable plots would be provided to investors free of charge for the development of shopping malls and residential complexes, subject to two key conditions.
Investors would be required to complete their projects within three years, and every building would have to exceed 600 feet in height.
One-Window Facility for Investors
The interior minister assured investors that all relevant matters would be handled through a one-window system to facilitate the development process.
He expressed confidence that the project would attract strong investment, including from Saudi Arabia, and create substantial opportunities for investors in Islamabad’s real estate sector.
