US President Donald Trump has kept both military action against Iran and a diplomatic agreement on the table, saying the United States could attack Iran as early as tomorrow, although he declined to specify when any operation might take place.
Speaking to the media, Trump said Washington remained prepared for different outcomes, including further military action or a negotiated settlement with Tehran.
Trump Claims US Will Win Either Way
The US president said the outcome would favour the United States regardless of whether Iran agreed to a deal.
He also claimed that the United States had conducted operations against Iran in an extremely effective manner.
Hope for a Major Agreement
Trump said he might have to bring the mission to an end, or Iran could agree to negotiate a deal with Washington.
Despite the possibility of further military action, he expressed hope that the two sides could reach a major and favourable agreement.
His remarks indicate that the US administration is keeping both military pressure and the possibility of a diplomatic settlement in consideration as tensions with Iran continue.
