The United Arab Emirates has introduced a five-year Golden Residency visa for outstanding secondary school students, allowing high-achieving students and eligible family members to reside in the country without a local sponsor.
The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security has formally announced the new long-term residency pathway for students with exceptional academic performance.
Five-Year Residency
Under the programme, eligible students will receive five-year residency, while their parents and siblings can also benefit from the residency arrangement.
The Golden Residency provides greater flexibility for education, employment and investment without requiring a traditional sponsor or employer.
95% Marks Required
Students applying for the five-year Golden Residency must meet specific academic requirements.
Applicants must have scored at least 95% in their secondary school examinations and obtain a recommendation letter from the UAE Ministry of Education.
They must also provide valid academic certificates, official proof of their marks, and verification and recommendation documents from their respective school or educational institution.
Part of UAE’s Talent Attraction Programme
The initiative is part of the UAE’s broader Golden Residency programme, which seeks to attract exceptional talent by offering long-term residency to high-achieving individuals, professionals and highly qualified graduates.
Opportunity for Pakistani Students
The announcement could provide Pakistani students with an opportunity to pursue further education in the UAE and potentially build a longer-term future in the country.
