Xiaomi has unveiled its new foldable smartphone, the Xiaomi 18 Fold, at its autumn flagship launch event on Monday. The device will initially be available only in China.
According to the company, the phone measures just 5.02 millimeters thick when unfolded and 10.68 millimeters when folded. It weighs 219 grams.
Display and Design
The outer display is protected by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0. The screen also features bezels measuring 1.23 millimeters along the edges.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold has a 7.58-inch LTPO OLED inner display and a 5.38-inch LTPO OLED outer display.
Both screens support a 120Hz refresh rate and offer peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits.
Launch Timing and Availability
Xiaomi introduced the 18 Fold just two days before Apple’s launch event. On the same day, Huawei also unveiled its three-folding Mate XT 2 smartphone.
For now, Xiaomi has confirmed availability of the 18 Fold only in China.
Xiaomi 18 Fold Price
The starting price of the Xiaomi 18 Fold has been set at 10,999 yuan, which is approximately $1,638.
