PTI and Islamabad Police Confirm Hospital Transfer
A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson and a senior Islamabad Police official confirmed that Imran Khan had been taken to the hospital.
However, the Islamabad administration and the federal government have not yet officially confirmed the development.
Supreme Court Had Ordered Hospital Transfer
On August 18, Pakistan’s Supreme Court ordered that Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, be shifted to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad within two days.
The court also directed the formation of a medical board to assess and monitor his condition.
The board was ordered to include Imran Khan’s personal physician, Dr. Faisal Sultan, as well as his sister, Dr. Uzma Khan.
No Official Statement Yet
Despite reports confirming the former prime minister’s arrival at the hospital, there has been no formal statement from the federal government, Islamabad administration or Shifa International Hospital explaining the circumstances surrounding his transfer.
The absence of an official statement has left questions regarding the former prime minister’s health and the reasons for his hospitalization unanswered.
