Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of prolonged electricity load shedding in different parts of the country and ordered that power outages in any area must not exceed two hours.
A high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reviewed the country’s electricity load management situation. During the meeting, the prime minister expressed concern over the increasing load shedding reported in various cities.
Shehbaz Sharif directed the relevant authorities to ensure that no area experiences more than two hours of load shedding.
RLNG Supply Disruption Affecting Electricity Management
During the briefing, officials said that RLNG supplies had been affected due to tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and transmission difficulties.
The briefing stated that load management was being carried out because of the need to maintain a balance between electricity demand and supply.
The prime minister directed the authorities to take immediate measures to address the disruption in the transmission of RLNG.
Prime Minister Reviews Agricultural Exports
In another meeting in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reviewed measures for the development of the agricultural sector and promotion of agricultural exports.
The prime minister described agriculture as a key sector for Pakistan’s economic growth and stability and directed relevant authorities to take coordinated measures to improve access for Pakistani agricultural products to international markets.
Shehbaz Sharif also directed commercial officers posted at Pakistan’s missions abroad to play an effective role in promoting agricultural exports.
Focus on Agricultural Productivity and Innovation
Shehbaz Sharif said effective coordination and partnership between the federal and provincial governments were necessary to increase agricultural productivity per acre, introduce innovation in agriculture, develop the livestock sector and promote agricultural exports.
The meeting was briefed on proposals for the development of the agricultural sector and increasing agricultural exports, while various recommendations were also presented.
