ISLAMABAD: Another major development has emerged in Pakistan’s electric vehicle market, with Chinese automaker Chery preparing to introduce its new electric hatchback, the Chery QQ3 EV, in Pakistan.
According to recent auto reports, the vehicle is expected to be launched in Pakistan this month, which could further intensify competition in the affordable electric car segment.
The Chery QQ3 EV was launched in China in March this year and reportedly received around 56,879 orders shortly after its launch, highlighting strong initial demand for the model.
Two Battery Options, 310km and 420km Range
The Chery QQ3 EV is offered with two battery options. The entry-level version comes with a 29.48 kWh LFP battery, while the larger battery pack has a capacity of 41.28 kWh.
According to the CLTC testing standard, the smaller-battery version offers a range of around 310 kilometers, while the larger-battery version can deliver up to 420 kilometers on a single charge.
It is important to note that CLTC range figures are generally higher than real-world driving ranges. Actual range in Pakistan may vary depending on driving conditions, weather, speed and air-conditioning usage.
Powerful Electric Motor
Different variants of the QQ3 EV feature a rear-mounted electric motor and Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD).
One version produces 58 kW of power and 90 Nm of torque, while the more powerful version delivers 90 kW of power and 115 Nm of torque.
Fast Charging in Just 16.5 Minutes
One of the key features of the Chery QQ3 EV is its DC fast-charging capability. The battery can reportedly be charged from approximately 30% to 80% in 16.5 minutes.
This feature could be particularly useful for urban users in Pakistan who need to recharge their vehicles quickly during daily travel.
The vehicle also offers a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, allowing the battery to supply electricity to external electrical devices.
Modern and Spacious Design
Despite being an electric hatchback, the QQ3 EV features a modern and distinctive design. The vehicle measures 4,195 mm in length, 1,811 mm in width and approximately 1,573 mm in height, while its wheelbase is 2,700 mm.
The exterior features Q-shaped LED headlights, a closed front grille design, semi-hidden door handles and black wheel-arch cladding.
15.6-Inch Display and Snapdragon 8155
The interior of the QQ3 EV is equipped with a range of modern technology. Higher variants feature a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen along with an 8.8-inch instrument cluster.
The infotainment system is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset, while Chery’s AI Lingxi cockpit and AI voice interaction are also available.
The vehicle also offers connectivity features including Apple CarPlay, Huawei HiCar and Carlink.
375-Liter Boot and Additional Storage
Despite its relatively compact dimensions, the QQ3 EV offers practical storage space. The rear luggage compartment has a capacity of 375 liters, which can increase to around 1,450 liters with the rear seats folded.
The vehicle also features an approximately 70-liter front trunk (frunk).
ADAS and Advanced Driving Technology
Higher variants are equipped with Chery’s Falcon 500 driver-assistance system, which uses a Horizon J6E chip and provides up to 80 TOPS of computing power.
The system includes various Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features, including automated parking functions.
What Is the Price in China?
At the time of its launch in China, the QQ3 EV was priced at approximately 58,900 yuan to 78,900 yuan, depending on the battery and trim level. The model is available with 310-km and 420-km range options.
Based purely on currency conversion, these prices are equivalent to approximately Rs2.4 million to Rs3.3 million in Pakistan. However, the final price in Pakistan is expected to be different after adding import costs, duties, taxes, shipping, registration and the company’s margin.
What Will Be the Price in Pakistan?
The official price of the QQ3 EV for Pakistan has not yet been announced. Therefore, it would be premature to quote a confirmed local price.
Recent reports indicate that the vehicle is expected to arrive in Pakistan and could be launched in August 2026.
If Chery Pakistan introduces the QQ3 EV at a competitive price, the model could compete with other affordable electric vehicles entering the Pakistani market.
Chery is already present in Pakistan with its vehicle lineup and is looking to expand its product portfolio in the country.
What Makes It Attractive for Pakistani Buyers?
The key attractions of the QQ3 EV include its potential price, up to 420 km CLTC range, LFP battery, fast DC charging, modern infotainment system, ADAS features and relatively spacious cabin.
If the company manages to price the vehicle within approximately Rs3 million to Rs4 million in Pakistan, the QQ3 EV could become an important affordable EV option for urban consumers.
However, the final buying decision will depend on its official Pakistani price, battery warranty, charging network, spare-parts availability and after-sales service.
Pakistan is expected to see the arrival of several new electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles during 2026, which could further intensify competition in the country’s automotive market.
