Important news has emerged for Kia Picanto fans in Pakistan, as reports suggest that Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) is preparing to introduce the new generation Picanto in the local market.
According to reports and automotive industry experts, the new Kia Picanto could be launched in Pakistan within the next month. However, the company has not yet officially announced the launch.
End of the Previous Picanto
The 1,000cc Kia Picanto hatchback was introduced in Pakistan in September 2019 and remained part of Kia Pakistan’s local model lineup for nearly six years.
In recent days, Lucky Motor Corporation discontinued the production and sales of the existing Picanto, while the model was also removed from Kia Pakistan’s official website. New bookings were also closed, leading to speculation that the company was planning to discontinue the Picanto nameplate in Pakistan.
New-Generation Picanto on the Horizon
Automotive expert Suneel Munj reportedly clarified the situation regarding the discontinuation of the Picanto, stating that the end of the current model is paving the way for a newer generation.
According to these reports, Kia intends to retain the Picanto nameplate in Pakistan, with the new generation potentially being introduced in the local market soon.
However, details about the new vehicle’s engine, features, price, local assembly and official launch date have not yet been revealed.
Official Confirmation Still Awaited
Lucky Motor Corporation has not officially confirmed the arrival of the new-generation Picanto in Pakistan. Therefore, the information regarding its potential launch should currently be considered based on industry reports and statements from automotive experts.
If the new-generation Kia Picanto is introduced in Pakistan, it could be an important development in the local hatchback market, particularly for consumers looking for a compact city car.
