Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPENG will launch its next-generation G9L flagship SUV in Pakistan next month, the company announced during the local launch event for the XPENG L03.
The G9L made its global debut at the 2026 Paris Motor Show on October 12, following its launch in China in September. The company plans to introduce the SUV in multiple international markets as part of its wider global expansion.
The G9L is among XPENG’s most technologically advanced vehicles, combining artificial intelligence (AI), ultra-fast charging, rear-wheel steering and premium interior features. However, the company has yet to confirm the Pakistani model’s specifications, powertrain options or price.
XPENG G9L Dimensions and Exterior Design
The European-specification XPENG G9L measures 5,120 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width and approximately 1,788 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 3,100 mm.
Despite its large dimensions, the SUV is designed to offer improved manoeuvrability. Rear-wheel steering helps reduce its turning radius to approximately 5.5 metres. International versions also feature dual-chamber air suspension and adaptive damping.
The exterior follows XPENG’s minimalist design approach, with a wide stance, smooth bodywork and slim lighting elements. Depending on the market and trim level, features include DLP pixel headlights, electrically operated soft-close doors, a panoramic roof and large alloy wheels.
International colour options include Arctic White, Diamond Black, Mirror Gray and Waving Green, while the Chinese lineup also offers Provence Purple.
Electric Powertrains and Driving Range
The XPENG G9L has been developed in both battery-electric vehicle (BEV) and range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) configurations. XPENG has not yet confirmed which version or versions will be offered in Pakistan.
The European electric model uses a 110 kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery and is available in two main configurations: rear-wheel-drive Long Range and all-wheel-drive Performance.
The rear-wheel-drive Long Range variant produces 270 kW, equivalent to approximately 362 horsepower, and 465 Nm of torque. It offers a claimed WLTP driving range of up to 591 kilometres and accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in seven seconds.
The all-wheel-drive Performance variant delivers 430 kW, or approximately 577 horsepower, and 695 Nm of torque. It accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and offers a claimed WLTP range of up to 553 kilometres.
Both European variants have a top speed of 200 km/h and support peak DC charging power of up to 540 kW.
Ultra-Fast Charging Technology
One of the G9L’s main highlights is its 800-volt electrical architecture combined with 5C ultra-fast charging technology.
According to XPENG, the European electric version can charge from 10% to 80% in as little as 11.7 minutes under suitable conditions. Its peak DC charging power reaches 540 kW.
The SUV also supports AC charging at up to 22 kW, depending on the specification. These charging capabilities are among the key technologies XPENG is promoting as it expands the G9L into international markets.
Range-Extended Version Offers Up to 1,602 Kilometres
China also receives a range-extended version of the G9L. Unlike a conventional hybrid vehicle, its petrol engine primarily generates electricity, while electric motors drive the wheels.
The Chinese-market version combines a 1.5-litre petrol range extender with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.
XPENG quotes a pure-electric range of up to 435 kilometres under the CLTC testing standard and a combined range of up to 1,602 kilometres using electric power and petrol.
The range-extended model also uses the company’s 800V architecture and 5C charging technology. XPENG says nine minutes of charging can add approximately 280 kilometres of range under its stated testing conditions.
Whether Pakistan will receive the fully electric version, the range-extended model or both remains unconfirmed.
Premium Interior and Seating Options
The G9L’s interior configuration varies by market. The Chinese version has five seats, while European models are available with six or seven seats arranged across three rows.
Available comfort features include Nappa leather upholstery, AI-adaptive front seats and a zero-gravity front passenger seat on selected configurations. The SUV also offers climate-controlled seating and extensive electric seat adjustments.
Other available features include a built-in 12.5-litre refrigerator, a 21.4-inch 3K+ roof-mounted rear entertainment screen, an eight-inch rear control display and a 7.1.4-channel spatial audio system with headrest speakers.
A large panoramic roof, additional storage space and flexible seating arrangements further enhance the vehicle’s appeal for family and executive use.
Five-Screen Cockpit and 88-Inch AR Head-Up Display
Technology is a major part of the G9L’s cabin. The SUV runs XPENG’s XOS 6.0 operating system and supports interaction through five screens.
It also features an 88-inch augmented-reality head-up display that can project navigation, vehicle information and driver-assistance details into the driver’s field of view.
International versions support Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Google Maps integration. The vehicle also features six-zone voice interaction, allowing passengers in different seating positions to communicate with its voice assistant.
Advanced AI and Intelligent Driving Technology
XPENG describes the G9L as its next-generation AI flagship SUV, highlighting its computing hardware and intelligent-driving capabilities.
The vehicle uses XPENG’s Turing AI chips, which the company also employs in its IRON humanoid robot programme. Higher-specification Chinese versions can use up to three Turing chips, offering a combined computing capability of 2,250 TOPS.
The SUV’s intelligent-driving system is also supported by XPENG’s latest VLA 2.0 AI model.
According to the company, the system can retain up to 30 seconds of contextual information and predict how driving situations may develop over the following six seconds. This capability is designed to help the vehicle interpret changing road conditions and respond accordingly.
However, the availability of advanced driver-assistance and intelligent-driving functions in Pakistan will depend on local regulations and the specifications of the version introduced in the country.
Pakistan Launch Details Yet to Be Confirmed
XPENG has announced that the G9L will launch in Pakistan next month, but further details about local specifications, available variants and pricing have not yet been disclosed.
The vehicle’s final feature list and powertrain options for Pakistani buyers will depend on the version selected for the local market.
