The National Highways and Motorway Police has announced traffic closures on major routes from the evening of September 23, 2026.
According to the announcement, sections of the M-1 and M-14 motorways, along with the GT Road (N-5) at Attock Khurd, will be closed in both directions. The closures will apply to all types of traffic.
M-1 Motorway Closure
The M-1 motorway will remain closed in both directions from the Islamabad Toll Plaza to the Chach Interchange.
The closure will affect the Islamabad Toll Plaza, Fateh Jang/Tarnol Interchange, Sangjani/AWT Interchange, Brahma Bahter Interchange, Burhan Interchange, Hazara Motorway Interchange, Ghazi Interchange and Chach Interchange.
M-14 Motorway Closure
The M-14 motorway will also be closed in both directions from Hakla to Kundal.
The affected interchanges will include Hakla, Fateh Jang, Pindi Gheb, Kharpa, Tarap, Daud Khel, Kot Belian, Isa Khel and Kundal.
GT Road Closure
The National Highways and Motorway Police said the GT Road (N-5) will also be closed in both directions at Attock Khurd from the evening of September 23.
The police said the closures at all these locations will affect all types of traffic.
