ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Model Jail is set to be inaugurated next month, with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi directing authorities to complete all remaining work before the inauguration.
Model Jail Project Nears Completion
A meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reviewed progress on the Islamabad Model Jail project. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry also attended the meeting.
Officials informed the meeting that the project had remained pending for nearly 15 years and is now close to completion.
No Further Delay in Project Completion
Mohsin Naqvi directed all relevant authorities to complete the remaining work as soon as possible and ensure that there is no unnecessary delay at any level.
He said construction, administrative and other necessary tasks must be completed before the inauguration. All relevant agencies were directed to work in coordination to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.
Talal Chaudhry Monitoring Progress
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry is personally supervising the completion process and visiting the project site every week to review progress.
Chaudhry said the work on the Model Jail project was being continuously monitored and that its completion within the scheduled timeframe would be ensured through coordination among all relevant agencies.
The meeting also included a detailed review of the remaining construction work, administrative matters and preparations for the inauguration.
Action Ordered Against Encroachments in Islamabad
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited various areas of Islamabad and reviewed the overall situation in the city, civic facilities, cleanliness and beautification arrangements.
He inspected schools, hotels and other public places and issued directions to the relevant authorities.
According to an official statement, the minister directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and other concerned departments to remove encroachments from various areas of Islamabad.
He said encroachments would not be tolerated anywhere in the federal capital.
Comprehensive Beautification Plan for Islamabad
Naqvi also directed the CDA to launch a comprehensive beautification plan for all roads in Islamabad and ordered tree plantation in vacant patches of greenbelts.
The interior minister stressed the need to enhance greenery and said Islamabad should look like a capital city in every respect.
