Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone has achieved another major international milestone by becoming the first Indian actress to be selected for the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She has been named among the distinguished personalities chosen for the Class of 2026, marking a historic moment for Indian cinema.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the latest list of honorees, recognizing 35 prominent figures from the fields of motion pictures, television, music, live theatre, and sports entertainment.
Deepika Padukone Selected in Motion Pictures Category
Deepika Padukone was selected in the Motion Pictures category alongside internationally acclaimed personalities, including Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Demi Moore, Marion Cotillard, and filmmaker Chris Columbus.
Her selection makes her the first Indian actress to receive this prestigious recognition on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Other Notable Honorees
The Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026 also includes several well-known personalities from different industries, including singer Miley Cyrus, singer Josh Groban, actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
Peter Roth, Chairman of the Walk of Fame Selection Committee, said the honorees had made extraordinary contributions to their respective fields and that it was a privilege to recognize their achievements with one of Hollywood’s most iconic honors.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce also congratulated all selected personalities on social media, welcoming them to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026.

When Will the Stars Be Installed?
Although the official dates for the star installation ceremonies have not yet been announced, the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s rules require selected honorees to schedule their ceremonies within two years of selection. Failure to do so may result in the honor being forfeited.
Deepika Padukone’s Career Journey
Deepika Padukone began her acting career with the Kannada film Aishwarya in 2006 before making her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the blockbuster Om Shanti Om (2007).
The film became a massive commercial success and earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut, launching her career as one of Bollywood’s leading actresses.
She later delivered acclaimed performances in blockbuster films including Chennai Express, Piku, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and several other successful productions.
In 2017, Deepika expanded her international career by making her Hollywood debut alongside Vin Diesel in the action film xXx: Return of Xander Cage, where her performance received positive reviews.
Advocate for Mental Health Awareness
Beyond acting, Deepika Padukone has become one of India’s most prominent advocates for mental health awareness.
Last year, she responded to remarks made by an Indian business leader supporting a 90-hour workweek, emphasizing that professional success should never come at the expense of mental well-being or personal life. She also promoted the message #MentalHealthMatters, encouraging greater awareness and open conversations about mental health.
