Thirteen civilians were injured in attacks by Yemen’s Houthi militia on Saudi Arabia, while authorities issued security alerts in several cities on Tuesday morning, September 15, 2026.
According to Arab News, the Iran-backed group targeted civilian areas in Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif with ballistic missiles and drones on Monday.
Major General Turki Al-Malki, spokesman for the coalition established to restore Yemen’s constitutional government, said in a statement posted on social media on Tuesday morning that the attacks left 13 civilians with minor to moderate injuries.
He added that seven houses and two vehicles were damaged in the attacks.
Alerts Issued in Several Saudi Cities
Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense issued alerts for several cities in the western and southern parts of the country, including Abha, Jeddah, Jazan, Taif, Yanbu, and AlUla.
In a statement, the Civil Defense accused the Houthi militia of continuing what it described as “malicious and deliberate operations” against civilian facilities and civilians in the Kingdom.
The statement further said that the repeated attacks demonstrated what it called the group’s “extremist mindset and conduct” and its continued efforts to target civilian infrastructure and residents.
Coalition Vows to Protect Saudi Arabia
The coalition said its joint forces would respond to the attacks with “responsibility and firmness” to protect Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, civilian infrastructure, and residents.
The statement came amid heightened concerns over attacks targeting civilian areas in the Kingdom.
Security Alerts Later Withdrawn
Later on Tuesday morning, Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense announced that the alerts issued in several cities had been withdrawn after the threat had passed.
The announcement followed the earlier warnings issued for cities in the western and southern regions.
Previous Houthi Attacks
Last week, another attack by the Houthi militia injured more than 70 people in various towns and cities across Saudi Arabia, including women and children.
On Friday, Saudi Arabia temporarily shut down the East-West Pipeline after several drone attacks targeted areas around Riyadh and Medina.
Gulf and Muslim organizations condemned the attacks on the pipeline and expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia.
