KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has approached the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) against unidentified social media accounts allegedly spreading false and malicious content about him and his son.
In his complaint, Memon maintained that various social media accounts were being used in an organised attempt to damage the reputation of him and his son.
The complaint rejected as baseless claims that a guesthouse in Gulistan-e-Johar was owned by Sharjeel Memon. It also denied social media reports regarding his son’s alleged departure for London and the hiring of a security guard.
Memon also dismissed allegations that the medical board had been changed and that investigations were being obstructed, describing the claims as false and unfounded.

The complaint alleged that at least four social media accounts were being used to run a coordinated campaign, with similar content posted simultaneously. According to Memon, the use of identical wording and the timing of the posts indicated an organised social media campaign.
He suspected that those behind the campaign could be using fake identities, bot networks or proxy accounts. The complaint also raised the possibility of political elements being involved.
Memon requested the NCCIA to conduct forensic and technical investigations of the relevant accounts, identify the individuals operating them and take legal action against those responsible.

Meanwhile, a new development has emerged in the Mir Raza murder case. According to sources, there are indications that an attempt was made to burn Mir Raza’s body with acid.
Sources said traces of acid were also found on Mir Raza’s shirt, bringing a new dimension to the investigation. Investigators are examining the evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.
