KARACHI: The family members and friends of Mir Raza staged a protest sit-in on Shahrah-e-Faisal in Karachi, demanding the immediate arrest of those allegedly involved in his murder. The protest resulted in one track of Shahrah-e-Faisal being closed to traffic at Nursery, causing inconvenience to commuters.

Before the protest, Mir Raza’s father, family members and friends visited his grave and offered Fateha.
The protesters then marched from the graveyard towards Nursery, where they staged a sit-in and demanded the arrest of the killers as well as action against police officials allegedly responsible for negligence in the case.

Speaking to the media, Mir Raza’s father, Mir Hussain, said Fateha was offered at his son’s grave on Independence Day.
According to him, Mir Raza had a deep love for Pakistan and used to celebrate Independence Day every year.
He demanded the immediate removal of the DIG East and called for the suspension of the SHO of Ferozabad Police Station and other relevant officials.
Mir Hussain alleged that there had been delays in the investigation and that attempts were allegedly made to conceal evidence. He called for a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter.
Father’s Allegations
Mir Hussain alleged that after the incident, his family was kept engaged in various matters for 12 days, while no significant progress was made by the police.
He said the DIG East did not contact the family during those days.
Mir Raza’s father said the family was also giving the current investigation team an opportunity to complete its work and expressed hope that the case would now be investigated transparently and that those involved in his son’s murder would be brought to justice.
He made it clear that the family’s main demand is justice and the arrest of Mir Raza’s killers, along with legal action against those found responsible.
