Iran has placed seven conditions before the United States for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian media reports.
The conditions were reportedly conveyed to Washington through mediators after receiving approval from Iran’s top leadership. Tehran has maintained that the strategic waterway will remain closed until all seven conditions are met.
Iran and Oman Agree on a New Maritime Route
Meanwhile, Iran and Oman have reportedly reached an agreement on new maritime routes in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the report, Gulf countries will be briefed on Monday about the new sea route.
The proposed route will run entirely through Iran’s territorial waters and will operate under Iranian arrangements.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important maritime passages. Located between Iran and Oman, it connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. A significant portion of global oil supplies passes through this narrow waterway every day. Any disruption to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz could affect international oil prices, global trade, and energy security.
