Renowned Pakistani singer and Junoon vocalist Ali Azmat has returned with a new musical release, using his latest song to highlight political issues, human suffering and the challenges facing the world.
Ali Azmat released his new single ‘Yahan Wahan’ on September 14, 2026, accompanied by a dystopian-style music video that combines human direction with generative artificial intelligence tools.
The song explores various forms of human suffering around the world, expressed through the repeated lyrics “Yahan, Wahan, Kahan, Kahan” — meaning “Here, there, where, where.”
A Dystopian World Created Through AI
The approximately five-and-a-half-minute music video resembles a scene from a science-fiction film.
It opens with Ali Azmat waking up inside a secured facility where he is being held captive. Unknown substances are forcibly injected into him as he remains confined within the facility.
Ali Azmat eventually overpowers his captors and escapes. Before leaving, however, he ventures deeper into the facility, where he discovers human clones suspended inside glass tanks.
The video also features a theatre where brainwashing appears to be taking place. Endless lines of formally dressed individuals wearing virtual reality headsets are shown inside the venue. The word “OBEY” is displayed on the headsets.
Questions About Freedom and Human Suffering
Through the song, Ali Azmat questions the nature of a life in which everyone appears to be imprisoned.
The lyrics explore themes of lost happiness, human suffering and a world seemingly reduced to ashes, raising questions about freedom and the conditions of modern life.
A Message Against Oppression
After escaping the facility, Ali Azmat enters a world filled with destruction and rubble. He picks up an electric guitar and begins playing, while mysterious, glowing, extraterrestrial-like figures gather around him and listen to his performance.
Through ‘Yahan Wahan’, Ali Azmat encourages people to break the chains of oppression and slavery. The song conveys a message of unity, urging people to use their strength, stand together and play a role in improving their lives.
Graphic Content in the Music Video
