A 45-year-old woman, Hina Javed, was found dead in the bathroom of her home in Lal Kurti, Rawalpindi. Police have arrested her husband and a domestic worker, while a murder case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s brother.
Body Found in Bathroom
According to the FIR, Hina Javed’s body was recovered from the bathroom of her residence on August 20. Police said her hands were tied behind her back and an electric wire was found around her neck.
Police have collected evidence from the crime scene. The victim’s post-mortem has also been completed, while the report is awaited.
Husband and Domestic Worker Arrested
Police said Hina’s husband and domestic worker have been arrested. Investigators said the case is being investigated and the suspects will be presented before a court to seek physical remand based on the available evidence.
In the FIR, Hina’s brother, Fahid Javaid Malik, alleged that his sister was murdered by her husband in collaboration with the domestic worker and his father.
Family Demands Transparent Investigation
Fahid Javaid Malik expressed shock over his sister’s death and said the scene he witnessed was extremely disturbing. The family has called for a complete and transparent investigation and demanded justice.
According to the family, Hina had been taking care of her parents and had worked at the National Assembly for around 15 years.
What Does the FIR Say?
According to the FIR registered on August 20 at Civil Lines Police Station under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code, Fahid Javaid alleged that his sister was murdered by her husband, father-in-law and domestic worker.
Fahid told police that he received a call from his sister’s father-in-law at around 6:53pm on Thursday, informing him of an emergency at the residence.
He said he immediately rushed to the apartment with other family members and arrived at around 7:23pm.
Fahid claimed that he found his sister’s body in the bathroom. He further alleged that Hina had been subjected to severe torture and mistreatment by her husband and claimed that she might have been given a poisonous substance before her death.
Investigation Underway
The family has urged police and relevant authorities to complete the investigation without pressure or delay and ensure that anyone found responsible is punished according to law.
Police said the final facts will emerge after the post-mortem report and completion of the ongoing investigation.
