PTI Files Contempt of Court Petition Over Imran Khan’s Hospital Transfer

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a contempt of court petition in the Supreme Court over the non-

implementation of the order regarding the transfer of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to a hospital.

The petition states that despite the court’s directions, PTI founder Imran Khan was not transferred from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad.

PTI has requested the Supreme Court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the relevant authorities and punish those responsible in accordance with the law.

PTI Seeks Immediate Hospital Transfer

The petition also requests the immediate transfer of Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the federal law minister, the information minister, the Islamabad chief commissioner and the inspector general of prisons have been named as respondents in the contempt petition.

PTI has maintained that failure to implement the court’s directions amounts to a violation of the judicial order and warrants legal action against the responsible officials.

Medical Examination of Imran Khan

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) administration has issued a statement regarding Imran Khan’s medical examination.

According to the hospital administration, Imran Khan underwent a medical examination and a fitness report has been prepared. However, the confidential details of the medical report will not be made public.

PIMS said the privacy of the patient and the directions of the Supreme Court would be fully respected.

The hospital administration further stated that relevant medical experts conducted the required examinations and the findings were incorporated into the overall medical assessment.

The issue of Imran Khan’s transfer to a hospital remains under consideration, while the government has also filed a review petition against the Supreme Court’s decision regarding his transfer to Shifa International Hospital.

Respondent

in the petition filed by Uzma Khan sister of Imran khan Prime minister Shahbaz Shareef was made respondent but interior minister Mohsin Naqvi was not made respondent.
