The government has announced the registration procedure for its petrol relief scheme, offering eligible citizens a discount of Rs100 per litre.
The Ministry of Information Technology has developed an automated digital system with the support of NADRA, telecommunications operators and provincial departments. Vehicle details will be verified through provincial transport and excise authorities.
Applicants must register using a mobile SIM issued in their own name. They will have to send an SMS in the prescribed format, including their identity card number, vehicle registration number, provincial code and registration date.

After successful registration, applicants will receive a confirmation message on their mobile phones.
Before visiting a petrol station, registered citizens must type “TOK” and send it to 9771. They can receive discounted petrol by showing the token sent to their mobile phone.
The scheme covers motorcycle and rickshaw owners, as well as owners of vehicles with engine capacities of up to 800cc.
How many liters subsidy?
Motorcycle and rickshaw owners will be eligible for discounted petrol of up to 20 litres per month. Owners of vehicles with engine capacities of up to 800cc can receive discounted petrol for up to 30 litres per month.
In Islamabad, discounted petrol will be supplied from the night between Monday and Tuesday. Across the country, the facility will begin from the night between Wednesday and Thursday.
